Weekly Vibe: Today our clocks go forward, hooray!

Photo: Nature is celebrating be-ing alive with us as always, here close to home in the UK
Hey there,
Thank you for joining me again this week, and a warm welcome to new readers. One of the things I treasure most about living in the UK is the full experience of the seasons. While I may favour summer over winter at times, it's the rhythm of change I love — the reminder that life, like the Earth, is always moving forward. Some seasons I’m ready to release, others I can’t wait to embrace.
Today, Sunday 30th, the clocks go forward by one hour as we shift from GMT to British Summer Time (BST). We lose an hour in bed, but we gain longer, lighter evenings — with sunset now at 19:31 and sunrise at 06:37. The energy shift is palpable; spring is no longer waiting at the threshold, it's here.
Like many of you, setting my alarm at the usual time means I’m actually waking an hour earlier by my body clock — a bit disorienting at first. I ease the transition by heading to bed earlier the night before, and then relish the extra light in the evenings. It often feels like I’ve gained two whole hours to be outside with my familiar, Dolly, soaking in the fresh air and lengthening days.
It also feels beautifully fitting that this year, the clocks spring forward on Mother’s Day — a perfect reminder of the power and presence of Mother Earth in our lives.
As the month comes to a close, it’s time to see what’s ahead for our coven. I’ve chosen a new Tarot deck for this month’s reading — it resonated strongly with me, and I hope the artwork speaks to you as well. With nearly half the cards drawn from the Major Arcana, it's clear once again how powerful this collective is. We’re not just aware of our paths — we’re shaping them with wisdom and intention.
Your month ahead Tarrot Horriscopes
This is the time I tune into your energy and draw a tarot card with you in mind. Please note, this is not an in-depth personal reading, but remember, it’s no coincidence that you’ve chosen to be here today. If your Sun sign doesn’t completely resonate, I encourage you to explore your rising and moon signs as well. Please take the time to look at your cards this month, I have clients that resonate with them as their shadow side and some even recognise the character of their images from their lives. This reading unfolds over the course of the following month from print, with a special spotlight on Aries as we celebrate your birthdays.

Dear Joy: Your Personal Questions Answered
On my Etsy shop JoyWellnessWitch my practice is open to the whole world. I'm very grateful to the openness and connection I have with my clients. Each week I'll be sharing someone's energetic queries and my intuitive advice.

- Dear Joy
Question:
Can you help me find out what type of witch i am?, I’ve been practicing a while. I’m 20 and been in the craft exploring it since 9th grade high school. But never felt like I fit a bracket. Not even chaos. Eclectic doesn’t seem to fit either but maybe I have a poor understanding of it.
I’ve always been drawn to nature. A majority of my practice is herbal based. I do oil infusions, natural medicine, I make my own smoke bundles and even grow a majority of my herbs for herbal spellwork and rituals. So I had assumed oh I must be drawn to the earth element, and must be a green witch.
But then I also have heavy interests that don’t fit. For instance I love fire, I’ve always been drawn to fire more so than earth element. A lot of my rituals and spells include that. But wouldn’t it be hard to categorize myself as a green witch when I’m closest to the fire element, something that potentially destroys all green life.
My Response:
This is not a silly question — it's a thoughtful one that shows your deep connection to your craft. Based on what you've shared, I'd say you're a Hearth & Garden Witch with strong Elemental Fire energy, blending folk herbalism and practical magick.
You’re rooted in nature: growing your own herbs, making smoke bundles, and exploring plant magick. While you're aligned with Green Witchcraft, you take it further into Garden Witchcraft, focusing on sacred space, seasonal work, and mindful growing.
Your grimoire is full of hearth and home magick: from kitchen spells to spirit communication, you embody the Hearth Witch path, integrating magick into daily life. Fire is central to your practice, fueling your craft — from tinctures to rituals. Fire enhances, not limits, your path.
Crystals aren’t necessary — your bond with plants, soil, and water speaks more to earth magick.
You could say: "I’m a hearth and garden witch who loves fire. I grow my own herbs, make remedies, and blend ritual into daily life." And if “fire plant witch” fits, embrace it. Craft doesn’t need fixed labels; it’s about being dynamic and evolving.
Your inquiry inspired me to rethink my own path as a Hedge Witch, where I seem to be shifting more toward community now.
Blessings,
Joy x
